Premier League trio chase Leipzig star Olmo

Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal are all interested in a deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo.

Olmo signed a new contract at Leipzig during the summer despite interest from European sides, but is understood to have since had a ‘change of heart’ and is open to a new challenge after four seasons with the Bundesliga club.

The 25-year-old – who scored a hat-trick in Leipzig’s German Super Cup win over Bayern Munich in August – has a release clause of €60m (£52m) in his deal with Leipzig.

Goal are reporting that Manchester City are leading the race for the Spain international having expressed interest during the summer, but Pep Guardiola’s side will face competition from both Arsenal and Chelsea.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also weighing up moves to sign Olmo, who formed part of the former’s academy system before beginning his senior career in Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb.

Olmo has scored five goals in four appearances for Leipzig in all competitions this season, but has missed the club’s last seven games after picking up a knee injury during September’s international break. The midfielder has cored seven goals in 32 appearances for Spain at international level.
