Manchester City are among the clubs keen on a deal to sign Ian Maatsen as the full-back approaches the end of his Chelsea contract.
Maatsen will be a free agent at the end of the season and has so far failed to agree terms on an extension at Chelsea.
Barcelona have been linked with a move to sign the 21-year-old, but could face competition from Premier League clubs with both Manchester City and West Ham reportedly monitoring his situation.
TEAMtalk are reporting that City are keeping tabs on Maatsen with the Dutch defender’s versatility and promise having impressed the club’s recruitment team.
Chelsea accepted a £32m bid from Burnley for Maatsen during the summer window, but the defender turned down the move to the newly-promoted Clarets.
Maatsen spent last season on loan at Burnley and impressed, earning inclusion in the EFL Championship Team of the Season after helping Vincent Kompany’s side to promotion.
Maatsen has also been included in the Netherlands squad for September and October’s international fixtures, but is yet to make his senior debut for the Oranje.
