James Maddison has praised Son Heung-min as a ‘world-class player’ after the forward scored one and created another in Spurs’ 2-0 win over Fulham.
Spurs moved to the top of the Premier League table after a comfortable win over Fulham in north London, with goals from Son and Maddison continuing the club’s unbeaten start to the campaign.
The former opened the scoring with a fine effort into the top corner, before turning provider for Maddison to roll a finish past Bernd Leno after a defensive mistake from Fulham.
The duo have formed an encouraging understanding since Maddison’s summer arrival from Leicester, with each having registered eight goal involvements across the opening weeks of the campaign.
Maddison was full of praise for Spurs captain Son after the latest win and called the South Korean a world-class talent.
“We have a brilliant relationship. Sonny was a player I loved for years and years watching and now it is an absolute pleasure to play with him,” Maddison said, as per the BBC.
“He is a world-class player. I don’t throw that around a lot. We like to link up, we work a lot on it in training and we are starting to understand each other’s runs.”
