Musiala would consider Bayern exit to win Champions League

Jamal Musiala would consider leaving Bayern Munich if he felt he was unable to win the Champions League or Ballon d’Or with the club.

Musiala has emerged as one of Europe’s top talents since leaving Chelsea to sign for Bayern Munich, with the 20-year-old having scored 12 goals and laid on 10 assists in the club’s Bundesliga title win last season.

The midfielder is among the frontrunners for the 2023 Golden Boy award and was named as the German national team’s Player of the Year in 2022.

Sky Germany are reporting that Musiala does not currently have any plans to leave the Bundesliga champions, though his stance could change if he feels his individual ambitions cannot be realised in Bavaria.

Musiala is targeting Champions League success and also has ambitions to win the Ballon d’Or, with Real Madrid and Manchester City named as potential destinations should he decide to leave Munich.

Musiala’s current contract runs until 2026, but Bayern are keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal that reflects his increased importance to the side.

The midfielder’s last-gasp goal secured Bayern Munich the title last season on the final day of the Bundesliga season.
