Arsenal are set to put a move to sign Pedro Neto on hold after the Wolves winger went off injured during his side’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle.
Neto has been one of the stars of the opening weeks of the Premier League campaign and leads the league for assists with seven in 10 appearances.
The Portugal international has rediscovered the form that once made him one of the division’s most coveted young players, before a serious knee injury halted his progress across the last two seasons.
Arsenal are understood to be interested in a deal to sign the 23-year-old, but Neto’s latest setback could see the Gunners postpone a move.
Neto was stretchered off at Molineux at the weekend with a hamstring injury, though Gary O’Neil said that he hoped the issue was not ‘too serious’.
However, theĀ Express are reporting that Arsenal could assess alternative options ahead of the January transfer window as the north Londoners look to sign a right-sided winger to provide competition and cover for Bukayo Saka.
