Leandro Trossard hailed a perfect night for Arsenal after the club moved closer to the Champions League’s knockout rounds with a 2-0 win over Sevilla.
Trossard and Bukayo Saka were on the scoresheet as the Gunners cruised to a comfortable win at the Emirates, with the former – starting in a centre-forward position – opening the scoring from Saka’s cross.
Saka the kept his cool to score a second after the break, with the England winger played in on goal by Gabriel Martinelli before finishing confidently for his sixth goal of the season in all competitions.
Arsenal dominated the game and were rarely troubled by the Spanish visitors, with the victory leaving Mikel Arteta’s team four points clear of both Lens and PSV Eindhoven at the top of Group B. Arsenal will be assured of their place in the last 16 if the north Londoners avoid defeat at home to Lens on November 29.
“We played so well and created a lot. It’s a perfect night for us,” Trossard told TNT Sports.
“That’s why you play football – for nights like this. The crowd has been incredible and we wanted to give something back to them so it’s a great win for us.
“When I saw Jorginho on the ball I knew he would put it in behind for Bukayo Saka. It’s a great team goal and it set us up for the rest of the game.
“My biggest quality is that I can go on both feet. It doesn’t really matter for me if I play wide or inside. I have played in multiple positions in my career and it has helped me a lot.
“We want to win both games [left in the group stages] and that’s how we will approach it.”
