Title-chasing Liverpool look to continue their impressive Anfield form as they host in-form Brentford in the Premier League this Sunday.
The Reds have won all eight of their home games in all competitions this season, but will be looking to bounce back from a 1-1 draw at newly promoted Luton last time out, while Brentford have won their last three league games.
Here’s all you need to know about this weekend’s clash.

Form

Jurgen Klopp’s men sit third in the Premier League following a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road last weekend. Luis Diaz’s stoppage-time equaliser kept in tact their run of just one defeat in 16 games to start the season – a league best.
The Colombian’s strike also kept another impressive record alive, as Liverpool have scored in every game this campaign, a stat only matched by Brighton.

The Reds’ 24 league goals is only bettered by Aston Villa (26), Newcastle (27) and Manchester City (28), while their 10 goals conceded is the league’s third lowest.
Mohamed Salah has played a part in half of Liverpool’s goals this season (eight goals, four assists) and his blank at Kenilworth Road was only the second time the Egyptian has failed to score or assist in the league this campaign.
Klopp’s new-look midfield will be ripped apart this Sunday as Alexis Mac Allister’s fifth booking of the season means he is suspended for the Brentford game, while Thiago Alcantara and Andy Robertson both remain out until the new year.

The Bees currently sit ninth in the league, two points behind Brighton in the European places, but have seen an upturn in form of late and have won their last three Premier League matches, a record only Manchester City can match.
Thomas Frank’s men produced a second-half comeback to beat West Ham last time out. After trailing 2-1 at the break, the west London outfit drew level through a Konstantinos Mavropanos own goal before defender Nathan Collins grabbed the winner with just over 20 minutes left on the clock.
Mainstays at both ends of the pitch have helped Brentford to surge up the table. Striker Bryan Mbuemo and defender Ethan Pinnock have both played every minute of Premier League action, making the Bees the only club with more than one outfielder to not miss a minute of league play.

Aaron Hickey’s thigh injury against Chelsea means he will be out until the new year, as will Kevin Schade and Ivan Toney, who is suspended. In more short-term news Mikkel Damsgaard, Keane Lewis-Potter and Josh Dasilva should all return to the squad this month.
Last Meeting
Liverpool 1-0 Brentford, May 6th 2023
Despite large changes on and off the pitch at both clubs in the six months since their last meeting, both teams are in similar positions according to the league table. Liverpool were in the top four race when the teams met in May, while Brentford were in ninth.
Mohamed Salah’s 100th Anfield goal was enough to secure all three points and moved Liverpool to within one point of Manchester United in fourth.
Fabinho chipped a ball into the penalty area where the unmarked Virgil van Dijk headed the ball back across goal. The Egyptian was there to apply the finishing touch for his 30th goal of the season.
Mbuemo did find an equaliserr for the Bees, only for the goal to be disallowed for offside. The Reds held on for a sixth consecutive league win but failed to secure Champions League football.
