Manchester United have joined the growing list of clubs interested in signing Brazil midfielder Andre in the January transfer window.
Andre is expected to leave Fluminense this winter as clubs across Europe prepare bids for the Brazilian, who helped the side to a first ever Copa Libertadores triumph last weekend.
The 22-year-old featured as Fluminense beat Boca Juniors in extra-time to be crowned South American champions for the first time.
Liverpool reportedly made a bid for the midfielder during the summer transfer window, but Fluminense were insistent that Andre would not be allowed to leave until the end of their domestic campaign in December.
Arsenal and Fulham have also each sent scouts to watch Andre, who won the Bola de Ouro as the best player in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2022. The defensive midfielder made his debut for Brazil in June and is valued in excess of €35m at Fluminense.
Football Transfers are reporting that Manchester United have now entered the race, amid doubts over Casemiro’s long-term future at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are understood to have ‘made an approach’ for the Brazilian ahead of the January transfer window.
