Ten Hag admits Rashford ‘not happy’ with Man United form

Erik ten Hag has said Marcus Rashford is ‘not happy’ with his form this season after struggling for goals for Manchester United.

Rashford scored 30 goals in all competitions during a career-best campaign in 2022/23, but the forward has failed to reach those heights during a disappointing start to the campaign.

The 26-year-old has netted just once in 10 Premier League games for the Red Devils this season, in what has been a challenging opening to the new campaign for both club and player.

Rashford was controversially sent off during the club’s 4-3 defeat at FC Copenhagen in the Champions League in midweek, with Ten Hag admitting the England international is not meeting his own ‘high expectations’.

However, the Dutchman has backed Rashford to find his form ahead of this weekend’s clash with Luton at Old Trafford.

“I think he is not happy. We are not happy. He has high expectations for himself and in this moment he is not in his best form,” Ten Hag said at his pre-match press conference.

“I know he will be back and when the team is playing better, he will play better and score goals. I am confident in that. He will improve and score goals this season. He is totally aware of everything, so he will be back on track.

“It can happen very quickly. Sometimes you only need one game and I am sure we will get there.”
