Manchester United open to Casemiro exit amid Saudi interest

Manchester United are open to allowing Casemiro to leave the club amid interest in the midfielder from the Saudi Pro League.

Casemiro is a reported transfer target for Saudi sides in the January transfer window and the Red Devils are reportedly open to his sale, in a bid to fund the club’s rebuild.

The Brazil international signed for Manchester United in a £60m deal from Real Madrid in 2022 and was an instant hit, impressing as the club won the EFL Cup and secured Champions League qualification.

However, the 31-year-old has struggled to replicate those performances this time around and talkSPORT are reporting that United are prepared to cash in should a large offer arrive from the Middle East.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to lead the club’s sporting department when his minority takeover is completed, with the British billionaire set to purchase 25% of the Red Devils and assume responsibility for the football operations. Ratcliffe is open to bids for Casemiro in the winter window, as the club look to bring in funds and longer-term additions to Erik ten Hag’s squad.

United brought in Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina to provide an alternative in defensive midfield this season, with Casemiro currently sidelined with a hamstring issue.
