Man City and Chelsea tracking Kvaratskhelia

Manchester City and Chelsea are among the clubs tracking Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Kvaratskhelia was arguably the breakout star in European football last season, as the Georgian inspired Napoli to a first league title in 33 years.

In his first season after arriving from Dinamo Batumi in a €10m deal, the winger was named as Serie A’s Most Valuable Player after leading the league for assists.

Kvaratskhelia also won the Champions League’s Young Player of the Season award and his performances have alerted Europe’s elite, with Real Madrid and Barcelona interested.

ESPN are reporting that Chelsea have now joined the Premier League contingent of interested clubs, alongside both Manchester City and Newcastle.

Chelsea have focused on signing emerging talent in recent transfer windows and the 22-year-old Kvaratskhelia is one of the best-rated prospects in world football.

Napoli are under no pressure to sell Kvaratskhelia, who is valued in excess of €100m at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. The Italian champions are also progressing in negotiations over an improved contract for the winger.

Kvaratskhelia scored 14 goals and registered 17 assists in 43 games in all competitions for Napoli last season, while he has scored 15 goals in 28 games for Georgia at international level.
