Liverpool Injury News: Klopp gives update ahead of Man City game

The Reds have been firing on all fronts so far this season, with the club progressing well in the Premier League, Europa League and Carabao Cup.

Injuries haven’t plagued Jurgen Klopp’s team, and the number of players out is much less than some of their close rivals.

Liverpool Injury News:

Ryan Gravenberch

Ryan Gravenberch has found the success he was seemingly lost of in Munich and has bolstered the Liverpool midfield dramatically.

However, the midfielder missed out on games against Toulouse and Brentford before the international break, through injury.

No further setbacks have been noted and the Dutchman is expected to feature against Manchester City.

Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez

Another absentee from the Brentford game was Konate, who subsequently withdrew from the French international squad for their games against Greece and Gibraltar.

France manager Didier Deschamps has noted the injury as ‘not serious’ and it is thought that he will be ready to face the champions.

Like Konate, Joe Gomez was an omission from the team that beat Brentford. Just like his French counterpart, Gomez isn’t expected to be carrying anything too problematic.

In his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: “Only the long-term absentees are still out. No new concerns before I entered this room.”

Andy Robertson

Liverpool have been without Andy Robertson since the last international break, where the left-back suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery, which is expected to keep the Scotsman out until the new year.

The 29-year-old defender has been a fixture in the side in recent seasons, so Klopp will be hoping to see Robertson return as soon as possible.

Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic

Liverpool’s Spanish duo have both been absent for a lengthy period of time, with the pair the consequence of setbacks from previous problems.

Thiago hasn’t played a single game since April and isn’t expected to be fit until the New Year, whereas Bajcetic was sidelined with an adductor injury in March and has struggled in his attempts to return to fitness.
