Bayern Munich are not interested in signing Casemiro from Manchester United as the club look to bring in a defensive midfielder in the new year.
Bayern want to sign a specialist defensive midfielder in the January transfer window and have been tentatively linked with Casemiro in recent days, amid speculation the Brazilian could depart Old Trafford.
The 31-year-old shone after signing for the Red Devils from Real Madrid in 2022, but has struggled to replicate those performances so far this season.
Sky Germany have dismissed the suggestion that Casemiro is a potential option for Bayern however, insisting the Bundesliga champions have no interest in the five-time Champions League winner and that no negotiations have taken place.
Bayern saw a late move to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham fall through in the closing stages of the summer and are expected to renew efforts to sign the 28-year-old in January.
Palhinha leads the Premier League for tackles this season, having topped the metric during an impressive debut campaign in the division for the Cottagers in 2022/23.
The west Londoners are braced for another bid from Bayern for his services and have held talks with Fluminense over the signing of Andre as a potential replacement. The 22-year-old is on the radar of several English clubs after his role in Fluminense’s first ever Copa Libertadores title.
