Ange Postecoglou has said his depleted Tottenham team must ‘crack on’ ahead of facing Manchester City this weekend.
Spurs have a number of injury absentees with Micky van de Ven, James Maddison and Richarlison among those out, while Rodrigo Bentancur will be sidelined until February after picking up an ankle injury against Aston Villa last time out.
The north Londoners have lost three consecutive games to drop to fifth in the table, ahead of a tough trip to face the Premier League champions this weekend.
“Irrespective of what team you’ve got, it’s always a challenge to play against City and any team Pep manages,” Postecoglou said at his pre-match press conference.
“You want to play against the very best. It would’ve been nice if things were smoother for us. We’ve just got to crack on and get on with it. It’s about us becoming the team we want to become. There’ll be challenges.”
The Australian was asked for his opinion on the potential introduction of sin bins into the Premier League and was definite in his stance against the idea.
“Yeah, bin it mate, bin the whole idea. I don’t understand why they keep interjecting themselves into the game.
“There’s not much wrong with the game. I don’t think there’s a need for it. You see dissent these days because you have people to [give] dissent to. I just don’t think we need to mess with the game too much.”
