Fluminense midfielder Andre has called playing in the Premier League a ‘big dream’ amid transfer speculation surrounding English clubs.
Andre’s performances for the Brazilian side have caught the interest of several Premier League clubs, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Fulham all said to have sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old in action in recent months.
The defensive midfielder helped Fluminense to a first ever Copa Libertadores title in 2023, with the Brazilian side having also progressed to the Club World Cup final after beating Egypt’s Al Ahly yesterday.
Fluminense could face Manchester City in the decider, with Pep Guardiola’s team to face Japanese outfit Urawa Red Diamonds in the other semi-final on Tuesday.
Fluminense are expected to allow Andre – who made his debut for Brazil in June – to leave in the January transfer window, with the club’s campaign to conclude after their Club World Cup involvement in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on transfer interest from England, Andre admitted a Premier League move would be a ‘big dream’.
“I watch Premier League and it’s a big dream to play there one day,” he told Ben Jacobs.
“I’m focused on finishing the season with Fluminense and realising our own dream of winning the Club World Cup. But my dream is clear, to be a Premier League player.”
