Alejandro Garnacho hailed Manchester United’s will to “never give up” after coming from behind to defeat Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Unai Emery’s side took a two-goal lead in the first half after John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker found the net.
The Red Devils thought they had pulled one back after the break through Garnacho, only for VAR to rule the goal offside. But the 19-year-old did end up scoring twice before Rasmus Hojlund broke his duck in the Premier League to complete a stunning turnaround.
“It is a great feeling,” Garnacho told Amazon Prime. “We are Manchester United. We were two-nil down, but we never give up, and it was a great comeback from the team.”
On his second half performance, the Argentine commented :”I wanted to try and take control of things. I said we just needed one goal to get back into it, I got that first one but it was offside.
“But as I said before we never give up so it was a case of scoring the first goal and keeping on pressing. I am very happy for Rasmus also to get his first league goal.
“Too many people talk about the strikers at Man United, that we never score goals or get assists, but you see today Marcus Rashford with an assist, goals for Rasmus and me. Everyone is very happy.
Garnacho added: “[I’m] very happy, one of the best days of my life.”
