Inter Milan eye Premier League pair ahead of January window

Inter Milan are considering moves to sign Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and Chelsea’s Armando Broja in the January transfer window.

The Italian side want to bring in attacking reinforcements in the winter window and are monitoring a number of forwards ahead of the transfer window, with FC Porto’s Mehdi Taremi understood to be top of the club’s wish list.

Taremi, who has scored 86 goals in 170 games for the Portuguese side and has previously been linked with Manchester United and Spurs, is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and could be available in a cut-price deal.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Martial and Broja are on Inter’s list of names should a move for Taremi not materialise.

Martial has started just five Premier League games this season and is another whose current deal expires in the summer. United have no plans to extend the Frenchman’s deal, with the 28-year-old having scored just 12 Premier League goals across the last three-and-a-half seasons. The Red Devils are prepared to let Martial leave next month, should a suitable offer arrive.

Broja is also a player of interest to Inter, having struggled for fitness and favour at Chelsea. After recovering from a long-term knee injury, the 21-year-old has featured for only 304 minutes in the Premier League this season.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio distanced the Serie A leaders from an attempt to sign Chelsea striker in October, with AC Milan and West Ham also linked with moves to sign Broja last summer. The forward will be keen to rediscover his form and earn regular minutes, as he looks to cement his place in the Albania squad for Euro 2024.
