Liverpool are not actively pursuing Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, Fluminense’s Andre, or Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie during the January transfer window, despite reports.
Liverpool have been linked with bringing in additions during the winter window and each of that trio have been named as potential targets for the Reds’ recruitment team.
Jurgen Klopp’s team failed with moves to sign defensive midfielders Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia in the summer, with the addition of a holding player understood to remain on the club’s agenda despite the signing of Wataru Endo.
The latter has grown in influence after a slow start at Liverpool, but will depart to compete in the Asian Cup with Japan this week.

Despite Endo’s impending absence and age (30), neither Palhinha or Andre are being pursued during the current window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. The latter was subject of interest from Bayern Munich in the summer after establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s best ball-winners in West London.
Coincidentally, Fulham have considered Fluminense’s Andre as a potential replacement for Palhinha, should he depart in January. Manchester United and Arsenal have also tracked the former, who impressed as the Brazilian side won a first ever Copa Libertadores title in 2023 and reached the Club World Cup final.

Liverpool’s lack of defensive options has also seen Hincapie linked with Anfield. The Ecuadorian has struggled for game time at Bayer Leverkusen this season, and his ability to operate at centre-back and full-back is appealing given the absence of Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas and Joel Matip.
However, the Reds are not understood to be considering a move for the highly-rated 21-year-old at this time.
