Juventus insist Arsenal target Vlahovic ‘not for sale’

Juventus have denied receiving a bid from Arsenal for Dusan Vlahovic and have insisted the forward is not for sale.

Vlahovic has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window as the Gunners look to sign a centre-forward this month.

The North Londoners have a long-standing interest in the Serbian striker and made an approach to sign Vlahovic from Fiorentina, before his €70m move to Juventus in January 2022.

The 23-year-old has since scored 29 goals in 79 games for Juventus during a mixed period in Turin, with Arsenal reported to be interested in signing the forward in the current window.

However, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has rubbished reports of an approach from the Premier League side, and has said any offers will not be welcomed with Vlahovic not for sale.

“Bid from Arsenal for Dusan Vlahović? We don’t know anything about that story, there’s nothing,” Giuntoli said, as per Fabrizio Romano.

“Vlahović is NOT for sale.”

Arsenal have also been credited with interest in Ivan Toney, but Brentford boss Thomas Frank has said it will take an ‘unbelievable price’ to sign the England international this month.

“He’s a Brentford player, he’s here. Clearly, we have missed a few offensive players and I can’t see why we should sell him. I would love to have him here for a long time,” Frank said on Thursday.

“If I could ever, ever, ever recommend something, and it’s not for me to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’, that’s up to Phil [Giles] and Matthew [Benham], I would say it needs to be an unbelievable price.”
