Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice, following the breakdown of the defender’s proposed move to Tottenham.
Tottenham held talks with Nice over a move to sign the defender late last month, but the North Londoners were unable to reach an agreement and have since turned their attention to Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin.
Todibo has a long list of admirers after establishing himself as one of the leading defenders in Ligue 1 in recent seasons, and RMC Sport claim both Chelsea and Manchester United have made enquiries into his availability this month.
AC Milan are also interested in the 24-year-old, who made his international debut for France during September’s international break.
However, it is expected that Todibo will remain with Nice for the remainder of the campaign, as the French side look to challenge Paris Saint-Germain for the title.
Nice are currently second in the table, five points behind the Parisian leaders, and have the best defensive record in the division with just nine goals conceded from 17 games.
Last season, Todibo ranked third in Ligue 1 for percentage of dribblers tackled (73.2%) and successful take-on percentage (71.4%), while ranking among the division’s top 10 players for touches (10th) and progressive carrying distance (10th).
