Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has delivered an injury update on his squad ahead of their Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils are currently missing nine senior players through injury or illness at the moment, but three members of the Dutchman’s squad could return to action this weekend.
“Some players, it is hopeful that they can be back for the weekend,” Ten Hag said after Man United defeated Wigan Athletic 2-0 on Monday night to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.
“Christian Eriksen, potentially Luke Shaw. Harry (Maguire) maybe. Mason (Mount), he needs some days or a week more.”
United will have to go without Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro, Sofyan Amrabat and Anthony Martial when they host Spurs at Old Trafford on Sunday.
They will be able to call upon Andre Onana after the club reached an agreement with the Cameroonian FA to delay his joining up with the national team in the Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations. Cameroon face Guinea in their opening group match on Monday, the day after United face Spurs.
Ange Postecoglou is also without a number of key names; Cristian Romero, James Maddison, Ben Davies, Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon are all out injured, while Son Heung-min, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are all on international duty at the Asian Cup or AFCON.
