Jadon Sancho’s loan return to Borussia Dortmund will not include an option for the German side to sign the Manchester United winger on a permanent basis.
Dortmund have agreed a deal to re-sign the out-of-favour star on a loan deal until the end of the season, with Sancho having had a public fallout with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
The 23-year-old has not featured since being dropped from the squad to face Arsenal in September, following Ten Hag’s criticism of his application in training. Sancho denied those claims on social media and has since been exiled from the first-team group at Old Trafford.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Dortmund have reached an agreement to re-sign Sancho, though the deal does not include an option to make the move permanent. Dortmund will pay a fee of around €4m and cover part of Sancho’s salary during his loan spell.
Sancho has struggled to make an impact at Manchester United since joining the club in a £72.9m deal from Dortmund in 2021.
The England international had cemented a reputation as one of Europe’s best young talents during his four seasons in Germany, where he recorded 114 goals and assists and was twice included in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
