Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta delivered an injury update on Declan Rice and Gabriel Magalhaes after Saturday’s win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Both players were subbed off in the second half, fuelling supporters’ fears that the pair sustained injuries during the course of the game.
“Declan Rice was feeling some tightness in his hamstring, so we didn’t want to take any risks at 3-0,” Arteta told TNT Sports after the final whistle.
“Gabriel had a tackle in the first half on his knee. I hope not [too serious] but we will see.”
The Brazilian defender was key to the Gunners’ 5-0 rout at the Emirates, heading home twice from corners in the opening half, although his second went down as a Dean Henderson own goal.
Leandro Trossard scored Arsenal‘s third in the second half, before substitute Gabriel Martinelli scored a stoppage time brace to complete a miserable afternoon for Palace at the Emirates.
The north London outfit now sit third in the Premier League table level on points with Manchester City and Aston Villa, and two off leaders Liverpool
Arsenal travel to the City Ground for their next game as they face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, January 30.
