Kylian Mbappe remains undecided on his future having received contract offers from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappe is out of contract at the end of the season and has been free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January 1, with Real Madrid making another approach to sign the PSG forward after previous failed attempts.
The Spanish side have offered Mbappe a contract that would make him the highest earner in their squad, though the deal is understood to be lower than past proposals, with Real keen to avoid upsetting the wage structure at the Bernabeu.
Mbappe and Madrid has appeared as an inevitable union, with the Frenchman having plastered his bedroom with posters of Cristiano Ronaldo in his youth. However, after a dramatic U-turn on a move to the Spaniards in 2022, this summer appears a potentially now-or-never moment to move to the Bernabeu.
ESPN are reporting that Mbappe remains ‘undecided’ on his future beyond this season and is giving consideration to an extension at PSG. The French champions have offered Mbappe a new deal worth €37m per season, though the decisive factor could be whether the forward feels Luis Enrique’s side are equipped to challenge for the Champions League.
PSG stumbled through the group stage this season and have struggled to transfer domestic dominance onto the European stage.
Madrid, meanwhile, are record 14-time winners of the Champions League and the prospect of playing alongside Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham in the Spanish capital will surely appeal. Liverpool, meanwhile, continue to be tentatively linked as a third option.
Mbappe has scored a record 240 goals in 286 games for PSG, winning Ligue 1’s leading scorer award in five straight seasons and the division’s Player of the Year in four of the past five campaigns. He has scored 19 league goals in just 16 starts for PSG during the current season.
