Erling Haaland is set to return to the Manchester City lineup when they take on Burnley this Wednesday.
Pep Guardiola says he hopes the Norwegian striker will be fit enough to be a part of the squad for the midweek fixture after recovering from an injury.
Haaland has not featured for Man City since fracturing a bone in his foot during the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on 6 December.
“Apparently he will be selected, yeah — the first time he’s back,” Guardiola said. “When we have all the squad, we are stronger, definitely.
“Erling is an important player for us, definitely. Has been two months out, a long time, but he feels good. We have training this afternoon but apparently tomorrow he will be with all of us.”
Guardiola revealed that Manuel Akanji and John Stones are also available for selection after spells on the sidelines.
“Manu is back, yesterday he trained really well and didn’t feel problems with his knee, John as well,” Guardiola added.
“That is the best news for the important part of the season, which starts right now. Of course, the FA Cup we had, the Champions League is around the corner and it is important to have everybody.”
