Jarrad Branthwaite earned a “massive” point for Everton after he equalised deep into injury time against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The visitors took an early through Richarlison, but the Toffees levelled matters when Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header went in off Jack Harrison.
An exquisite finish from Richarlison put Spurs back in front, but Ange Postecoglou’s men could not hold for the win as Branthwaite headed in from close range in the 94th minute.
“It’s a massive result for us,” the centre-back told BBC Sport after the final whistle.
“Going down early in the game, we showed real team mentality to get back into it.
“We are fighting right until the end in matches and giving ourselves a chance to get something from games.
“A lot of our goals have come from set pieces and it’s something we work on a lot. We have people in every position to score, it fell to me at the back post and I just put it in.
“I think it gives us a positive outlook going into a big game next weekend against Manchester City. We go into every game thinking we can get a result.”
The point lifts Everton out of the relegation zone, at least temporarily, while Spurs remain fourth in the Premier League table.
