Hojlund believes ‘connection’ growing between Man United forwards

Rasmus Hojlund believes the connection is growing between Manchester United’s forward options after scoring in the club’s 3-0 win over West Ham.

Hojlund continued his recent form with a fourth goal in four Premier League games, marking his 21st birthday with a brilliant opener in the win at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho scored twice to seal the win for the Red Devils, firing in a deflected first before racing away to score a second late on. Erik ten Hag’s team climb above West Ham and into the Premier League’s top six as a result, though remain eight points adrift of the Champions League places.

Hojlund believes there is a growing understanding between Manchester United’s attacking options, after combining with Garnacho and Marcus Rashford to lead the side to a second successive Premier League win.

“It was very good. It is always special to play on your birthday but today of course with the win, yeah,” Hojlund said to Sky Sports.

“I have spoken about doing a celebration with my friends and they said about doing the guitar.

“A month ago there was a lot of talk about us [Hojlund and Garnacho] not scoring enough goals but we are both young and growing every day. You can see the connection between us.”

Hojlund took 15 games to open his account in the Premier League, though has shown huge improvement in recent games and took his goal against West Ham in fine fashion. On his recent form, Hojlund added: “It has always been there, I have always believed in myself, it has just been about getting the rhythm going. You get one goal, then two and get a bit of momentum and start linking up with the players.

“I spoke with my team-mates and manager because we need to make each other better, that is what it is about. I want to be involved as much as possible.

“I also worked a lot on myself, I looked at my game and what I could improve. I think I have developed a lot since I’ve been here
