Arsenal scouting Premier League pair ahead of summer window

Arsenal are scouting Brentford forward Ivan Toney and Wolves winger Pedro Neto ahead of the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta wants to improve his forward line in the summer and is targeting moves for the Premier League pair.

Arsenal’s lack of a prolific centre-forward has been used as an argument against their title challenge this season, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah having scored just nine league goals between them.

Toney continues to be heavily linked with Arsenal and the 27-year-old has scored three goals in four games since his return from an eight-month suspension for breaching gambling rules last month.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank this week admitted that Toney would likely be sold in the summer, as the forward enters the final 12 months of his deal in West London.

“Ivan Toney will most likely be sold in the summer,” Frank told Danish sports magazine Tipsbladet.

“He’ll only have a year left on his contract with us, so it’s quite obvious. This winter, we actually had no bids for him.”

Arsenal are also said to be keen on Wolves winger Neto and HITC report that the Gunners sent scouts to watch the Portugal international and Toney in action this weekend.

Neto’s Wolves faced Toney’s Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday, with the latter on the scoresheet as the Bees secured a 2-0 win at Molineux.
