Brighton open to Kaoru Mitoma sale this summer

Brighton are open to the sale of Kaoru Mitoma this summer with a number of clubs interested in a deal for the winger.

Mitoma has been a major hit since arriving at Brighton in a £2.6m deal from Kawasaki Frontale, impressing on loan at Union Saint-Gilloise before breaking into the Seagulls side last season.

The 26-year-old has cemented a reputation as one of the Premier League’s best dribblers, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea having all kept a close eye on his progress at the Amex Stadium.

Barcelona have also been credited with interest in the Japan international and Football Transfers claim Brighton are willing to sell Mitoma for the right price this summer.

The Seagulls have progressed rapidly in recent seasons due to their shrewd recruitment, signing several stars for low fees before developing them and selling on for profit.

Last week, Brighton confirmed an agreement has been reached to sign 19-year-old Nordsjaelland forward Ibrahim Osman and the teenager’s arrival means Mitoma will be allowed to move on if a suitable offer arrives.

Brighton are understood to value Mitoma at around €60m (£51.2m) and will hope the significant interest in his services can lead to a bidding war in the summer.
