West Ham are ready to reignite their interest in signing Dominic Solanke as the club look to sign a striker this summer.
The Irons saw a £40m offer turned down for Solanke during last summer’s transfer window and have since seen the 26-year-old produce a career-best campaign at Bournemouth.
Solanke has scored 16 goals in 28 appearances for the Cherries in all competition to move into contention for a place in the England squad ahead of March’s international break.
West Ham have made the signing of a centre-forward their focus for the summer having used Jarrod Bowen as a makeshift striker for much of the campaign.
Michail Antonio’s fitness issues and Danny Ings’ struggle to make an impact have left the East Londoners short of firepower, with that duo having combined for just two Premier League goals this season.
Newcastle are also understood to be interested in Solanke, who has netted 72 times in 202 appearances for Bournemouth since signing from Liverpool in a £19m deal in 2019.
Solanke’s status as a homegrown player also adds to his appeal for both clubs, with Premier League sides permitted a maximum of 17 non-homegrown stars in their squads.
Liverpool negotiated a 20% sell-on clause into Solanke’s Bournemouth transfer, with the Reds to receive a fifth of any profit made on his next move.
