Crystal Palace braced for summer interest in key player

Crystal Palace are braced for summer approaches for Marc Guehi with Manchester United and Liverpool interested in the defender.

Several top sides have checked in on the progress of the England international in recent months, with Arsenal and Tottenham also admirers of the 23-year-old.

Guehi has established himself in the England set-up since signing for Palace from Chelsea in an £18m deal, earning nine senior caps for the Three Lions.

The central defender will be expected to form part of the squad for this summer’s European Championship and Palace are planning for his potential exit.

The Telegraph are reporting that the Eagles are compiling a list of centre-back transfer targets in the expectation that big bids will arrive for Guehi at the end of the season.

Palace will demand a club-record fee for Guehi, that would eclipse the £50m deal that took Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United in 2019.

The South London side also expect to receive interest from top clubs for Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, who were subject of approaches from Chelsea and Manchester City respectively last summer.

Guehi will enter the final two seasons of his contract at Selhurst Park in the summer and Palace could look to sanction a deal with his value high. Olise and Eze each signed new deals earlier this season, protecting their transfer value.
