Guardiola sure he will face Jurgen Klopp again

Pep Guardiola is confident that he will face Jurgen Klopp again as the two managers prepare to meet as Premier League coaches for the final time.

Klopp has confirmed he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, bringing an end to a managerial rivalry that has defined the Premier League in recent seasons.

Klopp’s Liverpool and Guardiola’s Manchester City have been the dominant teams in the division, with each having won every available major honour since 2019.

The teams meet this weekend embroiled in another Premier League title race, in a first-versus-second showdown at Anfield with just a point separating the sides in the table.

Klopp hinted at retirement following Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Sparta Prague on Thursday evening, though Guardiola believes the German is too ‘young’ to leave football for good.

“I don’t think so,” Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference when asked if this would be his last battle with Klopp.

“We can play in the FA Cup and the future nobody knows. He’s young, I’m young, so I don’t know.

“Always was a pleasure and it will be tomorrow (Sunday) too so we can do no better than try to win the game.”
