Mohamed Salah and Ibrahima Konate have not been included in the Liverpool XI to face Manchester City in the Premier League this afternoon.
Liverpool face Manchester City in a first-versus-second clash at Anfield, as the Premier League’s top two collide in a huge game.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been dealt a blow with neither Salah or Konate deemed fit to start. The former made his return from a hamstring injury as a substitute during Thursday’s Europa League win over Sparta Prague, but will begin the crunch clash with the Premier League champions from the bench once again.
Konate was substituted in the 5-1 win over the Czech champions as a precaution after feeling some muscular discomfort and the France international will not feature against the Citizens.
The 24-year-old has been ruled out of the clash entirely, with Jarell Quansah starting in central defence alongside Virgil van Dijk.
Darwin Nunez leads the line for Liverpool with Harvey Elliott included from the right flank in place of Salah.
Liverpool saw Arsenal move above them in the title race after the Gunners beat Brentford 2-1 on Saturday evening and the Reds require a win to return to top spot this weekend. Manchester City can also go top of the Premier League with a win.
