Ronaldo happy after ‘positive’ season in Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo has said he is happy in Saudi Arabia after a ‘positive’ season with Al Nassr.

Ronaldo is one of several big names to have joined the Saudi Pro League as the division spends huge sums to attract marquee players to the Middle East.

Some have struggled to settle in the division with former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson having departed Al-Ettifaq after just six months in the Saudi Pro League to sign for Ajax, while Karim Benzema has also been linked with leaving less than 12 months after signing a lucrative contract with Al-Ittihad.

Ronaldo was one of the first elite names to move to the league after joining Al Nassr from Manchester United in January 2023 and has made a huge impact, scoring 48 goals in 56 appearances in all competitions.

Al Nassr are second in the Saudi Pro League, 12 points behind unbeaten leaders Al-Hilal, but remain in contention for King Cup, Saudi Super Cup and AFC Champions League.

The 39-year-old has been pleased with the performances of Al Nassr this season and has reiterated his happiness with life in Saudi Arabia.

“I am happy to be in Saudi Arabia, absolutely happy,” Ronaldo said, as per Fabrizio Romano.

“I’m happy to represent Al Nassr and for me our season is positive because we have had a chance until now in all tournaments.”
