Manchester United have received a major boost ahead of the club’s FA Cup quarter-final with Liverpool, with leading scorer Rasmus Hojlund set to return.
Hojlund has missed the last four games in all competitions with a hamstring issue, an absence which brought a halt to the forward’s fine run of form.
The 21-year-old had scored in six straight Premier League appearances – becoming the youngest player in the division’s history to achieve that feat – and also netted in the FA Cup fourth-round win at Newport.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s quarter-final showdown with Liverpool at Old Trafford, Ten Hag confirmed Hojlund, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were all in contention to feature after returning to first-team training.
“All the players mentioned [Maguire, Wan-Bissaka and Hojlund], they returned on the pitch. Partly in the start of the week and, today [Friday], we had a session that they were all training.
“I think [they are going to be available]. We have, tomorrow [Saturday], one session. We have to see how they recover from this tomorrow. But it looks good.”
