Arsenal approach Real Madrid with £60m transfer ‘offer’

Arsenal have reportedly put in a considerable transfer bid for Real Madrid player Brahim Diaz.

The Gunners have made an ‘offer’ of €70 million (£60m) for the Moroccan international, according to Spanish outlet Nacional (via Football 365).

It’s claimed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez ‘must decide whether to sell him or retain him’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are ‘interested’ in Diaz, who played for Manchester City while Mikel Arteta was still at the club, following the player’s recent performances for the La Liga outfit.

Real’s expected acquisition of Kylian Mbappe will ‘make it even harder’ for the 24-year-old to find a starting position in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Therefore, Diaz will ‘consider packing his bags’ with Arsenal ‘in the auction’ for his signature when the transfer window reopens.

It makes sense that Gunners would eye up a move for a player such as Diaz, who has displayed an ability to play in a number of attacking positions. Arteta is a big fan of versatility, as evidenced by the signing of players such as Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
