Mikel Arteta insists he is “really happy” at Arsenal despite the fact talks have not yet commenced over a contract renewal.
The Spaniard last extended his deal as manager in 2022, which will expire at the end of the 2024/25.
But the 42-year-old appears to be in no rush to discuss a contract extension as the Gunners chase a first Premier League title in 20 years.
Arteta said there are no updates on a new deal, before adding: “I am really happy. I still have a year on my contract, that is a long time in football. The players are happy, the club is happy, no issues.
“I am just focusing on the games and winning matches. That is the most important thing right now.”
Arsenal can temporarily go ahead of leaders Liverpool in the table if they beat Luton Town on Wednesday evening. The Reds, who enjoy a two-point lead after 29 games, play Sheffield United on Thursday.
