Arne Slot has formally signed his contract to become the next manager of Liverpool with an official announcement expected imminently.
Slot emerged as the frontrunner to become Jurgen Klopp’s successor at Anfield, after the German announced his decision to step down at Liverpool at the end of the campaign. Klopp will take charge of Liverpool for the final time against Wolves this weekend, as the Premier League campaign concludes on Sunday.
Liverpool are expected to formally announce the appointment of Slot as the club’s new manager once the season ends, though the official documentation has been signed for the 45-year-old to join from Feyenoord.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed the contract has been signed. However, Liverpool are still awaiting for work permits for some of Slot’s staff members before the club’s new coaching staff can be confirmed.
Slot has built a strong reputation in Dutch football during spells at AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord and has won the Rinus Michels Award as the Eredivisie’s Manager of the Season in 2021/22 and 2022/23.
He guided Feyenoord to a first league title in six years last season and led the Rotterdam outfit to Dutch Cup success during the current campaign.
