Newcastle and AC Milan have held talks over transfer dealings this summer including the prospect of Kieran Trippier moving to the San Siro.
Milan have enquired into the availability of the England right-back during negotiations between the clubs this week.
Trippier provided a career-best 10 assists during the 2023-24 Premier League campaign, though will turn 34 in September and saw his form dip across the second half of the campaign.
Milan are interested in a potential deal to sign the defender, who previously departed the Premier League for a successful spell at Atletico Madrid between 2019 and 2022.
Trippier could join a growing English contingent at the San Siro with Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek part of a squad that will be under new management in Paulo Fonseca this season.
Newcastle have been linked with interest in signing Tomori, though Fabrizio Romano has said there have been no talks held to discuss the prospect of the England centre-back moving to St James’ Park. However, Newcastle are interested in Malick Thiaw, despite Milan insisting the German is a key part of their long-term plans.
