Leicester to sign Chelsea youngster as Dewsbury-Hall exit looms

Leicester City are set to sign Michael Golding from Chelsea in a separate deal to the one that will see Kieran Dewsbury-Hall join the West Londoners for £30m.

Chelsea have agreed a £30m fee with Leicester for Dewsbury-Hall, who scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists in Leicester’s Championship title-winning season in 2023-24.

Leicester were reluctant to lose Dewsbury-Hall but have accepted a bid from Chelsea due to their Premier League Profit and Sustainability concerns, with the midfielder set to reunite with Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.

During the discussions, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Leicester have reached an agreement to sign Golding in a separate deal.

The 18-year-old is a highly-rated prospect who has represented England at various age groups and captained the national team at the 2023 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

Golding made his senior debut for Chelsea as a late substitute in the FA Cup third-round win at Preston North End in January and made 25 appearances for the club’s development sides in 2023-24.

The midfielder, who was born in Kingston upon Thames, joined Chelsea’s academy set-up from AFC Wimbledon in 2018 before progressing through the ranks.
