AC Milan have placed Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka on their shortlist of potential targets for the summer transfer window.
The Italian side have made the addition of a central midfielder their focus for the summer and are considering an approach for Chukwuemeka.
The 20-year-old struggled for regular first-team football at Chelsea after arriving from Aston Villa last summer, making just two league starts and featuring for only 224 minutes.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are reluctant to sanction a loan deal for Chukwuemeka and will only consider his exit if the loan contains a purchase clause.
Milan and Chelsea have a strong working relationship after several deals between the clubs in recent campaigns, including the sales of Christian Pulisic, Olivier Giroud, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea to the San Siro.
Chukwuemeka is one of several names on Milan’s shortlist, alongside Adrien Rabiot and Youssouf Fofana. The former is out of contract at rivals Juventus, while Fofana has entered the final 12 months of his deal at AS Monaco.
