Kim Min-jae has no intention of leaving Bayern Munich this summer despite a difficult first season in the Bundesliga.
The South Korean centre-back signed for Bayern from Napoli in a €50m deal last summer, becoming the most expensive Asian footballer of all time.
Min-jae had starred during Napoli’s 2022-23 title-winning season, earning Serie A’s Best Defender Award, but endured a mixed debut campaign in Germany.
After a strong start, the 27-year-old was criticised for inconsistent performances and faced flak for mistakes during Bayern’s eliminations from the DFB-Pokal and Champions League, as the Bavarians ended a season without silverware for the first time since 2011-12.
A number of clubs are monitoring his situation with Inter Milan enquiring about a potential loan deal, while Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool have all been linked with signing the centre-back previously.
However, Sky Germany are reporting that Min-jae is focused on success at Bayern and has no interest in leaving the Allianz Arena this summer. Rumours of a desire to leave have been described as ‘wide of the mark’.
