‘Really difficult’ – Arne Slot addresses Liverpool transfer concern

Arne Slot has moved to reassure Liverpool fans amid a quiet transfer window for the club this summer.

The Reds are one of only two Premier League clubs not to have made a signing since the window opened last month. With Fulham on the verge of capturing Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal and Ryan Sessegnon on a free transfer, they will be out on their own by the end of the week.

The Dutchman is not stressed by the current situation, however. The new Liverpool boss is very happy with the players he has at his disposal, although he admitted it’s “really difficult” to assess his squad as many of them have not yet joined the team for pre-season. He did add, however, that “it would be a surprise” if no new names arrive through the door at Anfield this summer.

“The first aim is to work with these players,” Slot told the media. “The disadvantage is that many of them aren’t here yet. The positive is that there is an important lifeline of the club, youngsters coming into the team. It is an ideal way of seeing them in these weeks when they get a lot of playing time as well.
