Juventus have submitted an offer of €45m (£37.9m) for Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.
The Italian side are continuing their rebuild under Thiago Motta and looking to add Koopmeiners to an overhauled midfield.
Juventus have already signed Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa and Nice’s Khéphren Thuram, with Koopmeiners targeted to complete their new midfield group.
The Netherlands international has given the green light to a transfer to Turin and Fabrizio Romano has revealed an opening offer has now been submitted.
Juventus are hoping to beat Premier League competition to Koopmeiners, who has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United Spurs and Liverpool.
The 26-year-old played under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot at former club AZ Alkmaar and had been named as a potential target for the Dutchman during his first summer at Anfield.
“I told Atalanta I want to leave in the summer,” said the Dutch midfielder to De Telegraaf earlier this year.
“Last season, there was concrete interest from Napoli, but the two clubs didn’t reach an agreement. I hope there will be options to consider this year. My girlfriend and I are enjoying Italy, but I would endure rain for some clubs in England.
“I’d lie if I said I have no news of interest from Juventus and Premier League clubs. I read the news, too. I’ve had an amazing time at Atalanta and I hope they will get a big sum.”
Koopmeiners scored 15 goals and laid on seven assists in al competitions in 2023-24 and helped Atalanta to Europa League success.
