Manchester United are set to seal the double signing of teenage starlets Chido Obi Martin and Samuel Lusale from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
United have beaten significant competition from rival sides to reach an agreement with Arsenal forward Obi Martin, who has turned down superior offers from the Bundesliga in favour of a move to Old Trafford.
The 16-year-old is regarded as one of the best emerging talents in Arsenal’s youth ranks and scored 29 goals in just 17 league matches for Arsenal’s Under-18s last season. He hit the headlines in February after scoring 10 goals in a single game for the club’s u-16 team against Liverpool.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Obi Martin has accepted a proposal from Manchester United, while the Red Devils are also nearing a deal for Palace winger Samuel Lusale.
The 16-year-old, who represents Slovakia at youth level, has turned down a scholarship with the Eagles ahead of a proposed move to United.
The double deal continues an encouraging summer for Manchester United under their new ownership and board, following the first-team arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
