Manchester United: Key man agrees new contract

Manchester United are set to be handed a boost after reaching an agreement with Bruno Fernandes over a new contract.

The midfielder has agreed terms with the club over an extension to his current deal, ending speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford.

Fernandes has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and the Saudi Pro League this summer but will turn down interest from overseas in favour of committing his future to the club.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Fernandes has agreed terms on a contract until June 2027, with the option to extend for a further season. The deal will place Fernandes among the highest earners at Old Trafford and is set to be signed before the closure of the summer transfer window.

Fernandes has been an integral part of the Manchester United side since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 and has scored 54 goals and provided 41 assists in 159 Premier League appearances. Last season, he was named the club’s Player of the Season for a third time.
