Osimhen transfer update with striker’s stance clear

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has provided an update on Victor Osimhen’s future and said ‘we will see’ on a transfer for the wantaway forward.

Osimhen has told Napoli he wants to leave the Italian side this summer but talks over a potential exit have so far stalled.

Paris Saint-Germain saw negotiations break down with Napoli over the fee for the 25-year-old, while Osimhen’s refusal to leave on loan and wage demands have so far stalled a move to Chelsea.

With less than three weeks of the transfer window remaining, Osimhen’s future remains unclear. Manna has provided an update on the Nigerian and said there has been no change in the forward’s desire to leave Naples this summer.

“Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He wants to go,” Manna said, as per Fabrizio Romano.

“The situation is clear, there were already chances for his exit last summer… Victor wants to leave. We will see in the next 20 days.”

Napoli are understood to be interested in signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea as a replacement for Osimhen, who has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for the club.

Lukaku is free to leave Chelsea and has spent the past two seasons on loan in Italy, including an 21-goal campaign at AS Roma in 2023/24.

Asked on Napoli’s interest in Lukaku, Manna added: “He’s Chelsea player now. We are calm. We are looking at strikers.”
