Saudi Pro League clubs are considering an approach for Brentford forward Ivan Toney in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Toney is keen to leave Brentford in search of a new challenge but there has been little public progress on a potential exit.
The 28-year-old has a number of admirers in the Premier League among the division’s ‘Big Six’ but Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Spurs have all looked at alternative targets to date.
Saudi sides are now hoping to capitalise according to Fabrizio Romano, who is reporting that Al-Ahli have a long-standing interest in the forward. Al-Ahli are looking to sign a centre-forward after a mixed first season for Roberto Firmino in the Middle East and have also been linked with Arsenal”s Gabriel Jesus and Tottenham’s Richarlison.
Toney has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Brentford and is valued at around £50m in West London. However, a long-term injury to summer signing Igor Thiago has left Brentford short of depth in attacking areas.
Toney is yet to have made a decision in his future as he assesses all options on the table.
