Chelsea value Noni Madueke at around £60m amid interest in the winger from Premier League rivals.
Madueke has struggled to cement a regular role in the Chelsea side since his arrival from PSV Eindhoven 18 months ago and has been linked with an exit. The England u-21 international joined Chelsea for a fee of around £29m in Janaury 2023, after impressing in the Eredivisie after leaving Tottenham’s academy set-up.
Madueke made just 13 league starts last season, scoring five times in the Premier League and providing two assists. Competition at Chelsea has increased this summer after the £53m arrival of Pedro Neto from Wolves, while Christopher Nkunku’s return from an injury-hit debut campaign adds another option to the Blues’ forward line.
Newcastle United are among the clubs monitoring Madueke’s situation at Stamford Bridge but The Athletic are reporting that the Magpies will need to pay £60m to sign the 22-year-old.
Eddie Howe views Madueke as a potential option for Newcastle’s right-wing role with Miguel Almiron linked with an exit from St James’ Park. Crystal Palace have also been mentioned as a destination after talks to re-sign Wilfried Zaha from Galatasaray broke down.
Who else could leave Chelsea before the transfer deadline?
Trevoh Chalobah is another expected to leave Chelsea after being left out of the club’s pre-season tour of the United States. Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are potential options for Chalobah amid transfer interest in Villa centre-back Diego Carlos and Palace duo Marc Guehi and Joachim Andersen.
Romelu Lukaku will also leave Chelsea before the August 30 deadline and is on Napoli’s wish-list, as the Italian side look to offload the unsettled Victor Osimhen – linked with Chelsea – and sign a centre-forward.
Elsewhere, 20-year-old midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu is nearing a loan move to newly-promoted Southampton.
