Napoli are prepared to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea before a solution is found to Victor Osimhen’s future with the club.
The Italian side have been in negotiations with Chelsea over a deal to sign Lukaku, who is free to leave West London this summer.
Antonio Conte has made the signing of the 31-year-old his priority for the transfer window, as he looks to reunite with Lukaku in Naples.
The Belgium international was a key part of Conte’s Inter Milan side that won the Serie A title in 2020/21 and scored 64 goals in 95 appearances for the Nerazzurri over two seasons at the San Siro.
Napoli view Lukaku as the perfect replacement for Osimhen, who is pushing to leave the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium this summer.
However, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the Italian outfit are prepared to sanction the signing of Lukaku even before a solution is found for Osimhen. PSG and Chelsea have held talks with Napoli over signing the latter but have so far been unwilling to meet the demands.
Napoli submitted an official bid for Lukaku on Monday and will hold further talks with Chelsea to thrash out a potential deal.
